Bekka Scott

Violinist

Welcome!

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here at my site! Take a peek around and enjoy.

I’m Bekka, a traveler, artist, inspired individual, outdoors nut, owner of less than 200 things, and die hard Scrubs fan.

.

I’m currently in Portland and Keizer, Oregon teaching, performing, and getting ready for the next big adventure!

So violin is my thing. It used to only be classical violin, but since 2009 I have taught bluegrass fiddling, recorded jazz violin, and been a featured artist on the album You Speak To My Mind by Hindurwa, Rwanda’s leading Christian R&B group.

.

But I also sing jazz, play the guitar (both of which you can hear on the Willamette Jazz Singers albums The “A” Train and Move On Over), and dabble in drums. I guess I’m just too curious about music to stay tied to one instrument, let alone one genre or culture!

.

Anyway, back to violin, since that’s probably why you’re here…

.

The nitty gritty: I earned my Bachelor of Arts – Violin Performance from Willamette University in 2009.  I’ve had Master Classes and studied with numerous groups and individuals including Rolfe Schulte, Katie McLin, Elias Arizcuren with Conjunto Iberico, and more. I recently was a soloist with the Salem Pops Orchestra of which I was also Concertmaster. You can pick me out in the orchestra during Willamette Master Chorus and Salem Chamber Orchestra concerts as well.
